Yes, this is a very important bug, however it was not urgent for the previous update. The previous update had crashing bugs and was late by several weeks. The fix will be in the next beta.

Any ETA for 13g?

I just release 2.b13g the same day as 2.b13f. It will be in 2.b13h.

Dan,

I completely understand that this isn't implemented in beta 2.13h. However, I have no clue whether this will be fixed any time soon.

To be precise, according to this simple human beings opinion, this is *NOT* a report writer only problem. The problem exists in Genopro itself, and hence is a failure of the core of the product. An easy way to prove this is to go to a person who is in fact a hyperlink and click the birth tab. There is a large chance that the system will not report the proper data on the family dialog, especially siblings. Since it doesn't report the partner, one cannot check that.

I truly hope that this very important bug in the system is fixed soon.

Thanks in advance,
rgds,
Ronald

GenoPro keeps a cache of the image size (dimension) when first loaded. To update the cache, you view the picture again anywhere from within GenoPro, or use the "Flush Cached Picture Properties" from the Tools menu. GenoPro will reload the pictures on demand to re-build the cache.

More detailed look at Mozilla and IE6 picture and hyperlink problems.

Mozilla does not find other pictures. The hyperlink to children should move focus to the information on the same page but off the screen. As the focus does not move it is not obvious that the hyperlink to the main information of the child is available

IE6 scrolls through pictures but in many cases the first one is a single line and others have incorrect aspect first time round.

It is possible that I have replaced some picture files with another at higher resolution but using the same name. Does GenoPro identify image size when the picture is first added? This could, I suppose, cause it to mistake the size in the report

Thanks for your comments. Again, I wish I had more time to test all this before releasing Beta 13f. During the past 3 days, I worked a solid 40 hours of highly productive work. I am still in the "sprint mode" where I get about 4 to 5 hours of sleep per night. I am trying to get some sleep, but there are too many things are going on in my head... in the middle of the "night", I wake up to fix something and I end up working the whole "day".

Have tried the new report and, so far found two problems with pictures that need to be passed to the htm experts.

First: Mozilla displays the first picture but does not retrieve any others on the list.

Second: IE6 does move through pictures but the first new image appears as a thick blue line. Subsequent pictures behave correctly, although I did see one example where retrieval of the initial image caused it to be the wrong aspect ratio, corrected later.

These 'features' were present in early versions of the Ron's version, so hopefully can be sorted soon. ?2.13g?

The only other thing noted so far is that the hyperlinks within a family are only one way. Links are shown to parents and children but only the parent link works. This is in both IE6 and Mozilla.

Just looked at this again and it is slightly more complicated. A link to a child works first time round but can not be repeated. Will investigate further

Am I correct in describing the issue?

Yes, indeed. Resolving the problem is not a "Sunday Afternoon" fix.

It seems it's even more generic, and therefore probably even more harder to fix :-(

Since one of my ancestors was married 4 times, and since the tool cannot handle that properly, I created an internal hyperlink in the same Genomap. When generating the report, it also misses 3 of out 4 of the marriages.

rgds,
Roald

Any ETA for 13g?

Probably a week. This issue is a high priority on my list. During the past month, I have been working on many things, including shopping for new support forum (http://support.genopro.com/) and a re-design of the website GenoPro.com.

Thanks Dan,

I appreciate this a lot,

rgds,
Ronald
