I want to publish to the web, but my genopro version doesn't have the right button to select for this. I tried to update but it said I had the most current version. How can I get GenoPro Beta 15e so I can publish to the website? Thanks. Trudy

When I placed my report on the Genopro web site, it deleted most of the names on the web site. I have also checked your tree at http://familytrees.genopro.com/142674/ and as maru-san reports, the reason the names are missing for living individuals is because of the settings on the Privacy tab in the Report Generator dialogue. My guess is that your privacy settings were as shown:
If you want to show the names of living individuals either uncheck the 'Remove All Living Individuals' box, or if you wish to modify the dates of birth information then click the 'Keep Names' box. You should be aware though that the current recommendations are not to show living individuals on websites with unrestricted access because of privacy issues. Some individuals on your family tree may object to their details being on public display. GenePro has plans to introduce some form of password control in the future. As mentioned by appleshaw, you need to have the svg plug-in installed to view the tree on the website. However, I have had problems viewing the svg pictures on the GenoPro site with Internet Explorer although I have been able to view the svg files on other websites. There have been no problems with Firefox. No-one else has reported this problem, so I would be interested to hear if you still have problems when you have installed the plug-in.

What's the point in my having a family tree if others cannot access it without having to have the Geno Pro software on their computers?
It is not necessary to have GenoPro on a computer to see your family tree diagram but you do have to use a browser that supports .svg files. FireFox 1.5 includes this but IExplorer needs a plug-in. A problem using a public PC, such as at a library, is that plug-ins are normally not downloadable.
On a private PC click on the tree icon next to a name and follow instructions

I tried this, but it does not work. I have prepared a family in tree in the GenoPro Beta format. I then generated a report and had the report for web publishing on the GenoPro web site. But, it does not work. What's the point in my having a family tree if others cannot access it without having to have the Geno Pro software on their computers? Another problem. When I placed my report onthe Genopro web site, it deleted most of the names on the web site. Many thanks. Navin Parekh Member # 142674
Just had a look at your page and it just looks fine. If the report does not show all the individuals, most probably because you have asked the report generator to delete living people. Please check your dialog box for generating the report.

Please help me. Eventually, I wish to have my family tree on my family's own web site. How do I do it? I have tried several ways including creating a meta file. Nothing works because other family members do not have the Geno Pro installed on their computers. Another problem. When I placed my report on the Genopro web site, it deleted most of the names on the web site. This does not make sense. Please explain and also help with how I can have my entire family tree, names of each family member shown on the family tree, that can be accessed by others (who do not have GenoPro installed) through Internet Explorer. I look forward to your early response. I am utterly frustrated will appreciate help in a layperson's language as I am a computer novice.. Many thanks. Navin Parekh Member # 142674

Publishing at http://familytrees.genopro.com/ is not supported with version 1.99 for technical reasons. Since every customer has a free upgrade of GenoPro 2.0 there is no reason to support version 1.99 after releasing version 2.0.As for the target, we have ended up with a new road map that pushes again the release date to mid may 2006. You probably heared about version 2.0 for years already, but the "TODO" list is getting shorter and we make our best to stick with it even if we receive excellent suggestions. Version 2.0 is not the ultimate end version; it's a big step toward a series of innovations.

A new feature has been added to GenoPro Beta 15e to publish online at http://familytrees.genopro.com/. In the Report Generator dialog, click on the Web Publishing button and enter your username and password. Your genealogy report (HTML files, pictures, .gno file) will be automatically uploaded to our server under your account.

I use either SmartFTP or CuteFTP and neither have a limit on the number of files uploaded. I use Total commander as an FTP program. It's very comfortable.
