Poland is in European Union (EU), but it's currency still haven't been accepted in Euro zone (countries that renounced national currencies in favour of Euro), nor it is yet part of the Schengen zone (-AFAIK)(countries that have joined customs and immigration with centrall database and common visa regime). Great Britain also still uses GBP instead of EUR...

If your really intent on a Polish Language version then like myself you should get a Polish Genealogy program. I am looking at 'Drzewo Genealogiczne' from pl-soft. The link is www.pl-soft.pl . Its not as slick as genopro but has some good positives as well. It costs 66 Zlotys which is about £12 UK.

They are bundled in the distribution and if you want them, go to Tools, Generate Report and click on 'New Skin' button. This will unpack all of the files to a folder where you can customize them.

This post should be in " 3-rd party software" but I couldn't resistI'we seen a lot of localized software recently and there are even newsgroups about it (because I live in small country and localization is mostly a matter of good will of product users). So I've stumbled upon http://initranslator.sourceforge.net/, which might be helpful if skin texts are choosed to be in separate file. It could alo be used in Report generator skin(s).

I understand this is a big task. Before translating a skin to French, I will upgrade the code to support multiple languages in a single skin. GenoPro will use a naming mechanism such as DictionaryEN.xml, DictionaryFR.xml and so on, so multiple languages can be present without repeating the templates.

My name is in fact Jean-Claude, same as the Grand-Master. I'm French. I was born in Paris, the one in France, not in Texas. I left Paris, my birth city, about 29 years ago, am maried with a Scottish lass, got 4 kids and have been leaving in Scotland/UK since then. I am 56 next month, presently unemployed from my job abroad and therefore got a bit of time to practice VB, XML and Jscript languages. So you know almost everything about me then. But this isn't the purpose of this forum. What I was trying to say about cloning a skin, even the Grand-Master cannot deny that, is that it is a MAMMOTH task (also considering every language Genopro intend to translate) and should be left to the Genopropro programmers. Translation can be done, by any users/readers, adding words in dic.xml, adding functions and/or slightly modifying lang.vbs, but everything will be overwriten on the next revision and, perhaps more importantly everything will be optimized by Genopro. I am presently preparing/translating the French skin and will be pleased to forward a copy to Genopro when my work is over. Jean-Claude

Thanks Maru-San for your reply. I am very aware of the current status of the report generator regarding the translation to foreign languages. The report generator was introduced as a proof of concept and was supposed to create lists of names in HTML format. Thanks to Ron, he managed to push the limits by creating templates to generate reports with narrative phrases. The problem with narrative phrases is they are much harder to translate than translating keywords. I need to finish GenoPro 2.0 first. This product is way behind schedule. Once this task is complete, I will improve the report generator to have a much-improved phrase generator with callbacks / delegates. Since French is my mother tongue, I will have a real-life scenario to work with. I will also assist others wishing to translate to other languages, so we can develop a genuine solution for every language. My recommendation is to take a look at the topic Translation of narrative phrases using pattern matching to have an idea of what I have in mind. I am aware of the gender issues (male, female) for names, such as "Dan's Car" vs "L'auto de Dan".
