I just filed a family tree report that shows up in the familytrees.genopro.com main header under newest reports. It is called CGAmes in the header. Clicking on it it tells me of my longer title CharlesGordonAmesExtendedFamily and I have access to the report. Yet neither of the titles shows up in any search. It seems that I am lucky that it shows at all since it won't be in the "newest" report column for long. So the questions are:

1) How does one search for it in the future
2) How do I send a link to relatives to look at it on-line?

Thanks for your help.  Cheers,  Rob d'Estrube

Using the information you provide I found a report at
http://familytrees.genopro.com/rdestrube/CGAmes/, so this link could be sent to relatives.
However I noticed that it has used an old skin, so I suggest you follow the information given by Ron in http://support.genopro.com/Topic30691.aspx and update the skin
There is also more information in this thread http://support.genopro.com/Topic31498.aspx

Hello Exalted Grand Master,

I have a few more queries on the same topic:

Firstly, I am not sure how/what you did to create that link you sent me to my report; every time I try it I get a 404 error, no such page or page missing. How did you come up with that search answer?

Assuming that your search criteria comes up with a useful link, it seems awfully cumbersome to have to search if forced to use all of the information that shows in the link. The longer title doesn't/didn't search either so perhaps I don't know how to search in this system. Does one really have to know the name of the author and the exact title of the report or can you show me the search procedure that will find my CGAmes right off the bat just looking for something like Ames or CGAmes?

In the link to the articles about skins, Ron(?) makes mention of .zip files that are apparently posted at times to the forum. But clicking his internal links to explanations of the location and procedures doen't really give us information on where to find them. Can you please fill me in?

Cheers and thanks again for your help.

Rob

The ending of my favourite film (Some Like it Hot) has the line 'Nobody's perfect'
I followed the links you provided and looked on familytrees.genopro.com where I found your report. I then loaded it into my browser and copied the address to create the URL. I did not notice it included a ',' at the end, which gives an incorrect address. Try

See the difference?

OK, thanks. That solves that little mystery. But I must be really dense or there's something I am missing. When I go to familytrees.genopro.com I see the home page. On the left side is a listing of the newest reports. Mine is third from top at the moment and will eventually disappear from that top-of-list. I see CGAmes right there. If I try to use CGAmes in the search box directly below, it tells me that there is no such entity, yet clearly it is there and active when clicked on in the "newest reports' list. So my question is, how do I or anyone search for it once it disappears?

Cheers,  Rob

Under the list of reports is a link 'View more...' This opens a list of all reports, so it is not lost. You can sort the full list by the column but more useful is to use browser search Ctrl+F which when I typed"CGA" found your report. Obviously you might have to search with the full name.
The search facility lists names within reports although when I Tried 'Normandie' it found several names but not yours

I also meant to say that the post lists you are using v.3.0.0.5. The forum is not always correct at this point but your report lists an old version of the report template. If you check for update this will include later version
