I have a husband and wife created as individuals within a tree.  When originally created the link between them was visible and the data containing each other as a mate is held and visible within the database.  However, when viewed on screen the physical line between the two is missing.  Attempting to restore the link (I have tried delete and recreate) or reselecting "link to Mate" fails to create the visible link.

The only difference in this partnership to the others is that the spouse main record exists on another page within the database (ie another family tree) with a hyperlink created to the husband's family tree.  The hyperlink works, data is visible of the marriage when choosing properties for either instance of the spouse but still no physical line between them in the husband's tree.  I hope this makes sense!

This is not the first experience I have had with missing links but usually reselecting Link to Mate restores the visible line between them -unfortunately not this time.  Any help would be great.

Thanks.

You are welcome to send me your .gno file by email and I will take a look at it.  We are currently making "how to" videos, including how to link individuals involved in complex relationships, remove the "menage à trois", and other common problems encountered by our users.

Do you have an email address I can use to send the file.  I initially clicked GenoPro Support and send an email but this does not appear to let me send a file attachment other than an image.

Many thanks.

I manually edited your .gno file so you can continue your work.  The problem was as follows: You have two "Pauline" in your family tree, linked by an internal  hyperlink.  One of the pedigree link was pointing to the "wrong" Pauline, making the "parent" link invisible.  For instance, if you delete Pauline from the GenoMap Watkins, you will see the correct parent link in the Caulfield GenoMap. Clicking on Undo however restores everything, hiding the parent link.

Fixing this bug will requires a bit more time, as I need to think of a strategy to prevent such a scenario from happening again. I also want to provide a solution to fix all the existing hidden pedigree links, like the one on your family tree. I am sure you are not alone having this problem. Most people delete the individuals and re-create them, however I want a better solution. Manually editing a .gno file is not a solution.

This bug has been fixed.  The fix will be available in the next update (version 2.0.0.6).

I made an update at http://www.genopro.com/download/InstallGenoPro.2.0.0.5c.exe containing other bug fixes.  If you download 2.0.0.5c, you will get the fix.
